Two EV Charging Challenges. One Housing Association. π
When we talk about EV charging within Housing Associations, there are often two very different requirements to consider:
π Fleet Charging
Housing Association teams need vehicles to be charged, available and ready to work.
Whether it’s repairs and maintenance vehicles, housing officers or other operational fleets, charging needs to fit around the way those vehicles are actually used.
π Resident Charging
At the same time, more residents are making the switch to electric vehicles.
For Housing Associations, that can raise a different set of questions around communal parking, access, payment, usage and how charging infrastructure can accommodate growing demand.
The challenge?
These shouldn’t necessarily be viewed as two completely separate projects.
A Housing Association needs to consider its residents, fleet, properties, available power and future EV demand as part of a wider charging strategy.
π Because installing a few charge points is one thing.
β‘ Building a charging solution that works today and can grow with your organisation is another.
If you’re a Housing Association looking at EV charging for your fleet, residents – or both – we’d be interested to hear what you’re currently working on.
