AMP EV Social Value Statement

This statement outlines AMP EV’s commitment to social value.

Social value measures the positive value businesses create for the economy, communities and society. AMP EV is a member of the Social Value Portal which helps us to continually measure, manage and report our social value.

Here are some of the ways in which we manage and deliver social value:

Living Wage Accreditation

AMP EV are accredited by the Living Wage Foundation. This means that we are committed to paying our staff a real Living Wage that reflects the cost of living. As a responsible employer we believe in eradicating in-work poverty and creating a work environment where everyone feels valued.

Our support of local charities

Working with local charities is both a privilege and a responsibility that we believe businesses should share.

We were proud sponsors of the Give a Gift campaign for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity which ensures all patients who are in hospital on Christmas Day receive a small gift. Instead of having a Christmas party, we doubled the anticipated cost and used the money to sponsor the Give a Gift campaign.

North West Cancer Research is our Charity of the Year for 2024. We are looking forward to working on a range of projects to raise money for cancer research in the North West region.

AMP EV has also supported Southport charity Compassion Acts with an Easter egg collection scheme for local underprivileged and disadvantaged children.

Lancashire Skills Pledge

The purpose of the Lancashire Skills Pledge is “to create the conditions for a balanced, skilled and inclusive labour market to underpin economic wellbeing, productivity and growth across the Lancashire area”. We signed up to the Lancashire Skills Pledge to make ourselves accountable in these areas.

Of the eight available pledges, those awarded to AMP EV that directly relate to social value based upon career advice and mentoring are:

  • Being an Enterprise Advisor – AMP EV is an Enterprise Advisor to Southport College and Lancaster University School of Maths in Preston.
  • Taking on apprentices – we employ electrical and administration apprentices and promote AMP EV to future candidates.
  • Offering work experience and industry placements – local college students spend time at AMP EV to develop skills and gain valuable experience.
  • Employing local people – to help boost the local economy.
