Workplace Charging Scheme Grant (WCS) 

(Now extended to March 31st 2025) 

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that provides eligible organisations with support towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle charge points at their sites. 

Up to 75% of the total cost for purchase and installation of EV charge points (including VAT) is covered by the scheme. 

This support is capped as follows: 

• £350 per socket 
• 40 sockets in total across all sites per applicant 

Eligibility 

The scheme is open to eligible businesses, charities, public sector organisations and small accommodation businesses. 

• Applicants must own the property or have consent from the landlord for the installation of EV charge points 
• The site must have dedicated off-road parking 
• An approved installer must have surveyed the site before an application is made 
• If you work from home, your address must either be: 

           – Listed as the applicant’s place of business with Companies House 

           – Recorded on the applicant’s non-domestic business rate bill issued by the local council or Land and Property Services (LPS) 

• Your address must also have off-road parking.
