The EIS (Energy Innovation Summit) provided a great opportunity to be a part of future-ready networks. However, one “stand-out” from the day and something we found really fascinating were the conversations we had with people from Network Rail. We were astounded to hear that there are surplus megawatts of energy not being used! 😮
🛤️This seems to be untapped resources that could be utilised, but the issue lies in Network Rail not being a legal energy distributor. It seems like a wasted resource not to tap into the electrified line rather than using the grid.
Although not EV related, it’s important to us that we are all pushing for the same sustainability goals and in global partnership. 🌍
If only we could get the collaboration from the government to unlock these resources and support the grid for demand…
